Synthesis and magnetic properties of RCuSi (R = Y, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, Ho)

Description
The ternary RCuSi compounds (R = Nd, Y, Ce, Sm, Gd, Ho) were prepared by heating the mixture of powders with equimolar ratio of the rare earth metals, copper, and silicon at 800 to 900 0C for 7 days. Powdered samples were identified by X-ray diffraction. Their magnetic properties, magnetic susceptibility and magnetic momentum, were investigated in the temperature range 77 to 300 K
