Application of the quasi-stationary state approximation to interpret water-rock interactions in open hydrothermal systems

Description

Theoretical considerations and data from experiments using flow- through autoclaves confirm that water-rock interactions in open systems can be interpreted using kinetic reaction-path calculations, provided the experimental system approximates a stationary state in terms of invariant porosity, permeability and reactant surface areas. 10 refs., 1 fig., 1 tab
