Polarized particles at Saturne

Description
Four years ago, the first polarized proton beam was injected into Saturne. We were fairly quick about covering the full energy range of the machine with a high extracted beam polarization. Resonance crossing is a daily routine now. The adding of polarized deuterons from the same source has followed. Successive improvements of the source and of the transfer line to the synchrotron, allowed us to reach 1010 pps for protons and deuterons. All the external beam lines towards the users have been equipped with polarimeters. 40% of the beam time is dedicated to polarized particles and numerous experiments are being run
