Modifying effect of the combination AET, ATP and serotonin on murine oocytes

  • 1. Meditsinska Akademiya, Sofia (Bulgaria). Nauchen Inst. po Rentgenologiya i Radiobiologiya

Description

Sexually mature female mice has received intraperitoneally combined protection of AET (24 mg/kg), ATP (360 mg/kg) and serotonin (8 mg/kg) before acute external gamma irradiation with 43.5 cGy. The dose applied is absolutely lethal for oocytes of primordial follicles. The number of the survived oocytes is recorded by stages at 72nd hour after treatment according to Oakberg classification (1967). The administration of the protective mixture displays a high toxicity in all follicular stages. The protective effect of the combination is more strongly expressed to oocytes from primordial follicles and in less extent - to oocytes from growing and Graaf follicles; it is however absent to oocites from the stages 6 and 7+8. 1 tab., 6 refs
