Critical temperatures for crystalline beam

Description

Based on the previously derived equations of motion in the beam rest frame, we study the melting conditions of the crystalline beam conditions of the crystalline beam confined in an actual alternating-gradient (AG) focusing storage ring. The temperatures defined in the rest frame are directly related to the transverse emittances and momentum deviation conventionally used in the accelerator community. Using molecular dynamics (MD) method, we obtain the critical emittances and momentum deviation as functions of beam density and machine parameters
