Geometrical arrangement of γ-ray detectors
Description
Recently as Japan Ball Collaboration, the nuclear spectroscopy experimental project using the large scale Crystal Ball in Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute has been proposed. As for the project being advanced toward it, six detector of University of Tsukuba and five same detectors newly prepared by JAERI are combined to constitute the Crystal Ball, and by installing this in the beam line of the tandem booster new accelerator system in JAERI, it is aimed at to steadily carry out precise and systematic nuclear spectroscopy experiment. The sensitivity of the detectors is that of the required minimum limit for modern nuclear spectroscopy experiment. The arrangement of the detectors is shown. Angular correlation functions are discussed, and the different angular correlation functions in the case of using 12 detectors are summarized. By using the example of 107Ag + 27Al reaction by the 107Ag beam of 400 MeV, the result of the simple calculation for life measurement is reported, and the experiment by recoil distance method or Doppler shift attenuation method is assessed. The space for the target chamber is explained, and the notice for its design is given. (K.I.)
