Description

A spectrograph on the base of the NM-64 neutron monitor for the world cosmic ray (CR) station net is proposed to investigate CR intensity variations. The spectrograph performs functions of the neutron monitors and meson telescope. The NM-64 neutron monitor consisting of three sections constitutes the basis of the detector. Each section is surrounded with two rows of proportional counters for charged particles. The meson telescope permits to detect double coincidences and coincidences from the counters situated below and above the monitor. The counters are oriented in perpendicular directions to each other. So, the total solid angle of the detector is divided to narrow-angle telescopes detecting particles passing from different zenith angles and azimuthes. The CR station net transformation to the net of spectrographs on the base of the above technique permits to use the method of spectrographic world-wide survey in order to obtain both energetic and angular CR characteristics in the interplanetary space and measurements of geomagnetic cut-off rigidity and atmospheric temperature within the station net
