Thermal stressed state of the housing and the tube board conjunction assembly in the tube-and-shell heat exchanger
Description
Numerical investigation of axially symmetrical stationary temperature fields and stresses in the conjugation assembly of the housing and tube board of the most typical tube-and-shell heat exchangers at different relations of hot and cold side heat transfer coefficients has been carried out. Inner surfaces of the conjunction assembly with the most thermal stress have been determined. They are near stuffing the heat transfer tube into the tube board and at the point of conjunction of the housing and the tube board. The effects of hotside heat transfer rate on maximum stress levels at the conjunction assembly dangerous regions have been established. In the case of use of a coolant on the hot side with heat transfer rate less or equal to that on the cold side, both dangerous regions are the regions with equal thermal stresses
