A method of underground mothballing of radiation hazardous objects, Chernobyl-4 reactor taking as an example

Description

The method for conservation of ecologically hazardous objects by means of their self-submersion up to the calculated depth is proposed. The above method constitutes a new approach which makes it possible to essentially decrease under rigid conditions the danger of such objects for the environment both in the processes of accomplishing the work and after its completion. The possibility of applying the above-mentioned method for solving the problem on the accident power unit of the Chernobyl NPP is considered
