Creators

  • 1. Sussex Univ., Brighton (UK). Science Policy Research Unit

Description

The dependence of a revival of the nuclear power industry on the successful management of arising radioactive waste is discussed. Emphasis is given to a socially acceptable solution. The health and safety of the workers in the industry and the protection of the environment is stressed. Problems of waste storage and disposal are discussed with reference to the Swedish experience. The industry must be ''demythologised'' and its regulatory and monitoring systems made accessible to all. (UK)
