Description
Impurities and the content of the most important elements in the matrix graphite and its raw materials in spherical fuel element of 10MW HTR were studied by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), such as B, Cd, Fe, Ti, U, Th, Gd, Eu, Sm, Dy etc. The effect of processing conditions on the impurities of the matrix graphite was discussed. The results indicate that most of the impurities in the raw materials will be held in the final spherical graphite products. The processing conditions have no effect on the impurities of the matrix graphite. All impurities in the raw materials and the matrix graphite are met the specifications of the spherical fuel elements
