Nonlinear heating of a magnetoplasma - The temperature of the ionosphere
Description
Nonlinear heating of a multicomponent magnetoplasma under the action of a specified electric field is considered. The theory of nonlinear heating of a collisional magnetoplasma in the microscopic approximation has been extended, taking into account all the kind of collisions between the constituents of the plasma and their velocities. Numerical results characterize altitude, frequency, and angle dependencies of the ionosphere constituent temperatures in the altitude range 100-1000 km, in the frequency band 1-40,000 Hz, and angles theta = 0-90. 12 refs
