On the application of the resonance detectors in the Moessbauer transmission spectroscopy

  • 1. Sofia Univ. (Bulgaria). Fizicheski Fakultet

Description

Simple expressions for the sample maximum effect in moessbauer transmition spectroscopy with resonance detectors have been obtained. Experimental investigations of the effect and its relative statistical error have been carried out with several different detectors. It has been shown that using a high resonance efficiency detector (NSUB(R)=0.38) the relative statistical error and the sample absorption line widths are less than those obtained by a conventional NaI(Tl) detector. The calculated values of the effects are in 10% accordance with the experimental results. It has been demonstrated with a thin resonance detector a maximum narrowing of the sample absorption line of 27% relative to a conventional NaI(Tl) detector
