Preliminary results of sodium boiling through a 19 heating rod bundle
Description
A test section including the GR.19 heating pin bundle has been designed in order to simulate a fast reactor sub-assembly. A first series of boiling experiments was performed with this text section on the CFNa II loop of the Service des Transferts Thermiques. Differences of temperature in the hottest section of the bundle were such that boiling was detected whereas the mean outlet temperature was more than 100 deg C below saturation. A study of the different aspects of undersaturated boiling was performed

Une installation d'essais comprenant le faisceau d'aiguilles chauffant GR.19 a ete concue pour simuler un sous-assemblage de reacteur rapide. Une premiere serie d'experiences d'ebullition a ete realisee avec cette installation sur la boucle CFNa II du Service des Transferts Thermiques. Les differences de temperature dans la section la plus chaude du faisceau ont ete telles qu'on a detecte une ebullition bien que la temperature moyenne de sortie ait ete a plus de 100 deg C en dessous de la saturation.
