Highlights: ►Investigation of temperature dependence of the absorption cross section of N2O. ►Excellent agreement with new experimental data, etc. ►Completes understanding of photodissociation of N2O. - Abstract: The temperature dependence of the UV absorption cross section of nitrous oxide is investigated using new potential energy surfaces for the lowest two 1A′ electronic states. Comparison with the most recent experiments covering the ranges from T = 210 K to 350 K and λ = 185 to 229 nm is excellent. In order to achieve this good agreement initial bending states up to v2 = 3 had to be included in the Boltzmann averaging.
