Estimation of plutonium in presence of uranium by ICP-AES

Description

An ICP spectrometric method has been standardized for the estimation of plutonium in presence of uranium in the highly radioactive Purex process solutions without any separation or pre-treatment but with the appropriate dilutions of the sample to reduce the radiation dose-rate to an acceptable level for safe handling in the glove box. The detection limit for Pu is 50 μg/l and the precision is ±5%. (author). 4 refs., 2 tabs
