New aspects on the electronic conduction in semi-insulating CdF2:Gd3+ single crystals
Description
Experimental results on the DC conductivity of semi-insulating CdF2:Gd3+ single crystals are presented. The effect of the electric field and the temperature is analysed using ln σ versus E1/2 and T-2/5 plots as suggested in the multi-phonon-assisted small polaron hopping model introduced by Triberis. The agreement of the experimental results with this model is very satisfactory giving a meaningful interpretation of the transport properties of this material. (author)
