Interaction of nitrostilbenes with uranocene and its derivatives

Interaction of uranocene (dicyclooctatetraen-uranium), its di-n. butyl and di-n. decyl derivatives with 4-nitro-, α-nitro- and α, β-dinitrostilbenes in tetrahydrofuran has been studied. Formation of complexes with charge transfer, in which cis-trans-isomerization of nitrostilbenes takes place, is shown. Introduction in uranocene of two n. butyl groups results in a decrease, and of n. decyl group n complete suppression of isomerization
