Spectrophotometric determination of scandium with xylenol orange using preconcentration and separation from interfering elements by precipitation with oxalic acid
Creators
Description
Influence of some parameters (pH, salt concentration) on precipitation of scandium with oxalyc acid in presene of calcium oxalate as a collector has been examined. Scandium is precipitated quantitatively in the oxalate form at pH 0.8-1.2 in 0.5-1 M NH4NO3. A spectrophotometric method is proposed for determination of scandium with xylenol range combined with preseparation from interfering elements by successive precipitation with inositolhexaphosphoric acid and oxalic acid. The method was applied to scandium determination in samples of complex composition
