Description

The infrared laser excited chemical reaction of uranyl oxalate trihydrate (UO2C2O4 · 3H2O) is investigated with a megawatt pulsed carbon dioxide laser. Unlike the usual thermal decomposition of uranyl oxalate, the reaction product here is uranium dioxide. The quantum yield of this reaction varies with the frequency of the laser radiation
