Physicochemical study of rhenium complexing with sulfur organic ligands
Description
The complexing of some sulphur-containing organic compounds was studied, and their physicochemical properties were compared in an effort to find new reactants forming stable complexes with rhenium. As a result of comparing the interaction of different sulphur-containing reactants with rhenium the existence of functional-analytic groups for this element is suggested. Thioglycol, thiosalycilic and mercaptopropionic (thiolactic) acids and unithiol are believed to be the most promising sulphur-containing reactants to rhenium. Detailed descriptions of interactions of rhenium with the above-indicated reactants are given. The molar ratios in rhenium -thioacid compounds were found by the methods of isomolar series, equilibrium shift, slope ratios, curve intersection, and saturation. The equilibrium and instability constants of the complex studies were calculated. The anionic nature of the complex groups studied has been proved by the methods of ion-exchange chromatography, electrophoresis in solution and on paper. Spectrophotometric methods for determining rhenium with the aid of thioacids in an HNO3 medium, developed for the first time, were used successfully for analyzing ores, molybdenum concentrates, and products of their processing
