Description
The neutron detector comprises a Geiger-Mueller tube wrapped in an indium radiator and surrounded by aluminium and copper foils and by a layer of lead. These components constitute the detection probe, which is accommodated in a neutron moderator. The lead layer and copper and aluminium foils serve to filter off gamma radiation in case the detector is used in a gamma-neutron mixed field. The detector is well suited to the monitoring of radiation fields in nuclear power plants. (B.S.). 1 fig
