Description
The particulates control is very important in the study and the development of the fusion reactors. The long discharge analysis realized in Tore Supra at Cadarache showed that the particulates diffusion along the wall could play a great role in the retention observed for the deuterium. The authors present here a multi scale characterization of a porous carbon deposit, collected on the reactor neutralizer. Both techniques, adsorption isotherm measurements and electron microscopy, are suitable to study the porosity and allow the characterization of the volume and the structure. The sample shows an oval shape structure and a high specific surface area. TEM performed on thin foils cut from an oval reveals a regular network of parallel slit-shaped meso pores and macro pores.
