Comment on ''Moessbauer studies of harmonically bound oscillators in Brownian motion: a quantum approach''

  • 1. Delhi Univ. (India). Dept. of Physics and Astrophysics

Description

It is argued that the recent claim of Kumar [Phys. Lett. A 154 (1991) 461], that assuming the protein specific modes in a deoxymyoglobin crystal to be described by a quantum mechanical overdamped oscillator can explain the sudden sharp decrease, above a characteristic temperature, of the Lamb-Moessbauer recoilless fraction of the 57Fe atom in the protein crystal, is not tenable.
