Description

CrCl3 reactions with LiBH4, NaBH4 and KBH4 in the process of mechanical activation of initial crystal reagents in a vibrational spherical mill at 25 deg C are studied. It is established that under the conditions hydrogen and diborance are formed. Diborane yield depends on synthesis conditions and reaches 60%. Using the DTA method in combination with the analysis of gaseous phase formed the temperature ranges of reaction procedure in mixtures without mechanical activation are determined. It is shown that the interaction of CrCl3 with MBH4 at that is accompanied by hydrogen evolution only. Comparing the calculated ΔG2980 for various possible reactions of CrCl3 with MBH4 it is shown that mechanoactivation presents a ''soft'' activating factor, permitting to realize reactions between crystal substances in the direction of formation of thermodynamically unstable substances, B2H6 in particular
