Coordination compounds of iridium(4) chloride with chalcogenchloride ligands ECl4 (E = S, Se, Te)

Description
Chalcogenchloride complxes of iridium(4) (SCl3)2+[IrCl6]2-, [IrCl4(SeCl4)2] and [IrCl4(TeCl4)2] were synthesized. Indiviaduality of the compounds is confirmed by the methods of chemical analysis and X-ray phase analysis. The compounds synthesized are paramagnetic, the values of their effective magnetic momenta are characteristic of iridium complexes in the formal oxidation state (+4). Data of IR and 35Cl NQR spectra permit to make assumption of heteronuclear structure of the complexes in the form of distorted octahedrons, formed by metal and chalcogen atoms and interbound by chlorine bridges
