Study of Azolla's nitrogen intake in paddy plants

Labelled (N-15) paddy plants were treated with dried and fresh Azolla, at an early stage of paddy growth, treatment with dried Azolla stimulated the plant growth. However at the succeeding phase growth, treatment with fresh Azolla showed significant increase in plant weight. Both treatments were found comparable in supplying nitrogen to the plants
