Description

The second order nonlinear optical(NLO) properties of the monolithic bent molecule(Cz-Oxd2), two oxadiazolylstyryl moieties bridged to a carbazole, have been investigated for powder and film forms, We found that the thin film prepared by using the vacuum deposition method shows the spontaneous ordering of bent molecules. He solid substrate. Its NLO property was investigated through Maker fringe analysis and the second order NLO susceptibility was measured to be 0.34 pm/V at 1360 nm. The powdered sample was studied by second harmonic generation(SHG) with total reflection(TR) geometry and the effective NLO coefficient of CZ-Oxd3 in powder form was measured to be 1.2 pm/V at 1360 nm
