Tests of CP violation with K0 and antiK0 at LEAR

  • 1. University of Basle (Switzerland). Institut fuer Physik

Description

Our intention is to look for CP-violating phenomena through the asymmetry of intensities in the partial decay rates of K0's and antiK0's. Three points may motivate the undertaking of this experiment. The importance of the parameter /epsilon'/epsilon/ could justify an independent measurement from existing experiments measuring epsilon' with a priori different systematic errors. The availability of tagged K0 and antiK0's allows a more general check of CP violation in the neutral kaon system. The intensity of stopped antip's at LEAR and the symmetry of the annihilation at rest provide us with an unique way of studying such rare processes, using a modest-sized detector
