Description
The Czechoslovak nuclear accident dosimetry system has recently been newly elaborated. The paper presents its basic characteristics, from the point of view of the dosimetric methods used as well as of the organization of the data evaluation. It has been recommended that the system incorporates both the personnel dose meters and also the installed, fixed-position monitors. Thermoluminescent glass, photographic film, activation and solid-state track detectors, and silicon diodes are used as sensitive elements. The evaluation comprises three consecutive steps, going from a rather rough evaluation of the maximum surface absorbed dose to obtaining data that are as complete as possible on the depth dose distributions due to both neutrons and gamma rays.
