Installation for measurement of charged particle beam parameters
Description
A highly reliable installation for repeated measurement of charged particle beam parameters is suggested. In the installation proposed a dielectric is placed between monitor foils in the scanning beam zone. The commutation of elements relating to one of the monitor foils and measurement of electric signal from every element are accomplished by the scanning beam of the electron-ray tube (ERT), the target of which constitutes a combined structure with the charged particle beam monitor. The secondary emission monitor-target of the scanning ERT consists of a collecting foil, an emitting foil cut into a number of isolated strips, and a dielectric layer placed between the collecting foil and isolated elements of the emitting foil. Performance of the installation is discussed in detail. The invention permits to watch and measure the cross section distribution of the charged particle beam intensity, locate the beam electric gravity centre and measure the energy spectrum of the charged particle beam
