Tailoring of vapour beam characteristics for spectroscopy of lanthanides and actinides
Creators
- 1. Laser and Plasma Technology Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Spectroscopy of lanthanides and actinides such as fluorescence, absorption etc. is facilitated by high intensity, cooled atomic and molecular beams, produced by vapour jet expansion. Some of the important studies with beams, are relaxation studies in atomic and polyatomic gas, scattering of the beam by solid surface, high temperature vaporization behaviour of refractory metal like uranium oxides and carbides etc
