Description
The measurements of the diffraction elastic scattering cross sections for 17.9 GeV/c α particles on protons and He, C, Al, Cu nuclei have been made using a magnetic spectrometer with proportional chambers and dE/dx detectors. The procedure of the exposure and data analysis is described. The data on the differential cross sections, the total cross sections of αA interactions (and the slope parameters for the diffraction cones are presented. (P.N.M.)
