Consideration of phase formation features in the BeO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system using crystallochemical data
- 1. AN SSSR, Novosibirsk (Russian Federation). Inst. Geokhimii
Description
Crystallization character of the melts of four-component compound-beryllium indialite (Mg2BeAl2Si6O18) has been studied. It is shown that under conditions of high cooling rates and temperature gradients metastable compounds are crystallized, while in case of a slow cooling and the absence of temperature gradients a stable beryllium indialite. An attempt is made to explain certain features of phase formation using crystallochemical characteristics of the crystals formed. 26 refs.; 4 figs.; 1 tab
