Description

The 23Na(p,γ) 24Mg reaction has been made with a 500kV Van de Graff accelerator. From the reaction, the 308keV resonance strength S and have been measured. The targets used were a thick NaNO2 crystal for the resonance strength measurement and a NaCl evaporated on Al for the γ-ray angular distribution measurement. γ-rays emitted were measured with a 3'x3' NaI(Tl) detector. From these two experiments, properties of the Esub(p)=308keV resonance and levels in the residual nucleus Mg24 have been investigated. The present results have been compared with other experiments.
