Site management at heavy water project, Manuguru (Preprint No. PM-2)

  • 1. Department of Atomic Energy, Manuguru (India). Heavy Water Projects

Description

The management at a given project site has its own peculiarities. After identifying a site in proximity of required major raw material inputs, the task to fix the exact location and develop the area from existing terrain with all infrastructure required for construction and personnel who have to get the construction work done is quite challenging. Unlike the earlier heavy water project sites which had a supporting developed unit nearby, heavy water project site near Manuguru had no developed unit closeby and what was available was just an open area and it is this aspect that made the site management of heavy water project at Manuguru more challenging. The paper deals with the problems encountered at heavy water project at Manuguru Site and the action taken to commence and keep the construction work going on at the desired pace. (author)
