Hysteretic peak effect in CeRu2

Description

The field-dependent critical current density Jc(H) has been measured at several temperatures in the mixed state of a polycrystalline sample of CeRu2. Electrical resistance R(H) isotherms exhibit a pronounced resistance minimum for temperatures T < 5.9 K due to a peak effect near the upper critical field Hc2 which coincides with a previously reported anomaly in the isothermal magnetization M(H). The onset of the resistance minimum becomes field-hysteretic below T = 5.4 K. (orig.)
