On the deep inelastic ep scattering in the region ω approximately equal to 1
Description
Deep inelastic ep scattering in the region of the scaling variable ω approximately equal to 1 is investigated in detail. The fulfilled analysis of the data in this region shows that a breaking of the scaling is necessary. Parametrizations of the q2 dependence of the structure functions are considered basing on the asymptotically free field theory, on the parton model with pointless partons and on the scale-invariant parton model. It is shown that the available data in this region may be satisfactory described in all three approaches. In order to test the Drell-Yan relation a simultaneous analysis of the data on the deep inelastic and elastic ep scattering is carried out. The Drell-Yan relation doesn't contradict the data in the region ω approximately equal to 1
