Formation enthalpy of neodymium dichloride

Description

EMF of (-)Sr/SrCl2//BaCl2//NdCl2/Nd(+) and (-)Ca/CaCl2//BaCl2//NdCl2/Nd(+) solid-phase galvanic elements is measured. Experimental data are processed using thermodynamics law with application of the published values of thermodynamic characteristics of EMF-forming reaction components. Value of formation enthalpy for crystalline NdCl2 at 298.15 K equals to -699.8±1.2 kJ/mol.-1
