Description
By use of dimensional reduction from a six-dimensional Riemannian manifold to four Euclidean dimensions, the different topological configurations which arise in a Yang-Mills-Higgs system have been analyzed. A new class of of motion are given as a first-order system of differential equations. The analogies with superconductivity are also pointed out and an explicit expression for the action is given
