Hyperfine interactions in RMn2 compounds (R - rare earths)

  • 1. Akademia Gorniczo-Hutnicza, Cracow (Poland)

Description

The preparation technology of intermetallic compounds of RMn2 type (R -rare earths) has been worked out. Hyperfine interactions in such compounds have been investigated by means of Moessbauer spectroscopy on 57Fe nuclei. The Czjazak and Berger method has been used for spectra interpretation. Also the NMR spectroscopy was very helpful for understanding the magnetic properties of RMn2 compounds. The influence of temperature on hyperfine interaction parameters has been studied and compared inside the class of the investigated compounds. Their changes have been correlated with magnetic structure of compounds containing different rare earths elements in the molecule. 91 refs, 51 figs, 10 tabs
