Experimental determination of vanadium SPND model

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Reactor Control Div.

Description

The paper presents an application of the recursive least square identification technique, to estimate the parameters of the Vanadium Self Powered Neutron Detector (VSPND) model. The technique is superior to the conventional method of modeling as it can be applied to experimental data collected during any transient and not necessarily the step response. Experiments were conducted on four VSPNDs, of similar design, at Apsara reactor and the model was identified. It is shown that estimates of model parameters obtained from different sets of measurement data agree well with each other and with the published results. (author). 1 fig
