Description
The superconducting coil system of the Heliac Stellarator Reactor, HSR, is investigated. The field distribution of the configuration is calculated and the coil design is described. The distribution of the magnetic forces of the coils is investigated. A scheme of mutual support is applied to carry the magnetic forces. The resulting mechanical stresses and strains inside the coils and the surrounding structure are analyzed
