Description
The SEVRRA software tool developed by the Iberoamerican Organisms Forum Radiological and Nuclear Regulators (FORUM), has proved a viable alternative to perform Risk estimates in radiotherapy practices (High and Low Dose Rate Brachytherapy, Co-60 and Linear Accelerator). Due to the existence of new radiotherapy practices used in the Ibero-American region, such as: Modulated Intensity Radiotherapy (IMRT) and Nuclear Medicine Diagnosis (MND), it was decided to expand the use of the SEVRRA tool, through the incorporation of models for these new practices. This work shows the progress made in the development of these models; For IMRT, the model made with the collaboration of a Hospital of Mexico that has this practice, for which the basis was taken Linear Accelerator model that had already been developed in SEVRRA, because such practice of IMRT is done by using a linear accelerator, likewise the ―What methodology was used If…? ‖ And FMEA, for the identification of: stages, initiating events (SI), barriers and reducers, which make up the model of this practice. Additionally, the need to modify the criteria for assigning consequences values of the identified SI, because in the preparation of the treatment plan is essential the dose limit values in risk organs (OR), it is necessary to identify the consequences of exceeding these limits, therefore, proposed to define percentage ranges above the dose limit value in the OR, which helps better catalog the consequences. On the other hand, in addition to this work, it is shown the preliminary model of MND, with its stages, initiating events, barriers and reducers that have been identified so far.
