Creators

  • 1. Department of Energy, Washington, DC (USA)

Description

Main sources of energy uncertainties are an increase in energy cost and proliferation. Then it is shown a technology like nuclear-electric power generation moves from concept to application and how does uncertainty affect the final stage of this transition, that of social acceptability. Finally the role of the government in this transition process is reviewed, as a result the course of action suggested to international nuclear co-operation is related. Social acceptance will depend on the confidence with which we manage satisfactorily nuclear energy's potential risks with its promised and significant benefits
