Description
It is pointed out that quantum-chromodynamics (QCD) is a natural consequence from the assumption that quark fields are regarded as transverse octonionic fields. The construction of color-singlet states from quarks/antiquarks using a non-associative algebra similar to octonions leads to the string model of hadrons with QCD strings. (author)
