Description
It is shown that absence or existence of the renormalon singularities in the Borel plane is determined by the analytical properties of the Gell-Mann-Low β(g) function and some other functions. The constructive criterion of the singularities absence consists in the correct behavior of the β-function and its B(z) image on the infinity. This criterion is accomplished seemingly for the φ4 theory, quantum electrodynamics and quantum chromodynamics, however it is violated in the O(n)-symmetric sigma-model with the n → ∞
