Measurements and model calculations for (n,γ) and (n,2n) cross sections on Ir isotopes

Description
The results of the measurements of the (n,2n) and (n,γ) cross sections on sup(191,193)Ir in the energy range 13 to 18 MeV and 0.5 to 1.3 MeV are presented. They have been tentatively interpreted in terms of compound nucleus reaction mechanism. The need of accounting for non statistical effects in the (n,2n) and (n,3n) processes clearly emerged from the large failure of Hauser-Feshbach calculations above 15 MeV. (author)
