Description

This paper discusses collapse of the wavefunction as the phenomenon underlying chiral symmetry breaking in non-asymptotically free gauge theories. The 1/r singularity in the collapsed q bar q wavefunction causes catalyzed symmetry breaking which is the field theoretic analog of monopole induced proton decay. Collapse causes non- perturbative amplification effects which should have applications in Technicolor models of Grand Unification
