Marine repository - a vital waste management resource
Description
The problem of ocean dumping is discussed and its future role in waste management is assessed. The principal forms of waste dumped at sea can be grouped into seven major categories, which are defined and discussed. They are: sewage sludge; industrial wastes; domestic wastes; construction and demolition debris; explosives and munitions; radioactive wastes; and dredge spoil. Regulations concerning ocean dumping are discussed
